Boutique Downtown Hotel – Update

More images of the new hotel to be constructed at 416 Congress, built in 1893 and evolving into a stylish boutique location. Original post can be found here.

Dick Clark Architecture has provided more drawings of downtown Austin’s future boutique hotel, showing a terrace bar and pool, outside cafe seating, and a cutaway plan of the 15-story historic building. In addition to the 130 guest rooms, there is ample space for mingling, eating, and lounging – all of which are welcome after a day at the races.

According to their site, dcarch.com, the existing building envelope and facade will be preserved, while the addition of a pool deck and hotel tower will enliven the building and capture the great potential of its size and location. Though not scheduled to open until 2013, news of this development has both Austinites and visitors wanting more information on the new place to “see, and be seen:”
